Council and Committee Meetings

Council Meetings are held at 5.30pm on the third Tuesday of each month at the Council Chambers, 1 Tivoli Road, Old Beach.

Committee Meetings (if required) are held at 5.15pm on the first Tuesday of each month; and Planning Authority Meetings (if required) are held at 5.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month at the Council Chambers.

Members of the public may address a Council meeting on any subject of concern or interest to the municipality, except if a matter is listed on the Agenda which relates to a Planning matter. The Public Question Time Policy is available here.

Copies of Council Meeting Agendas are available four days prior to the meetings on Council’s website, and may be accessed below. Minutes of previous Council and Committee meetings can also be accessed from the same location.

Under the Local Government Act 1993, Section 23 provides the following information relating to Council committees:

(1) A council may establish, on such terms as it thinks fit, council committees to assist it in carrying out its functions under this or any other Act.
(2) A council committee consists of councillors appointed by the council and any councillor who fills a vacancy for a meeting at the request of the council committee.
(3) A meeting of a council committee is to be conducted in accordance with prescribed procedures.
